OUTWARD GIVING
In common with many other churches, HTSM donates some of its income to other charities as part of its mission, and has done so for many years. Last year, following a review, the PCC formally adopted an Outward Giving policy..
The ‘cash’ part of this Outward Giving is 10% of the income from the Planned Giving scheme (regular donations by parishioners).
At present, this is made up of 3 donations of 20 % of last year’s income to charities with which we have a long-term link:
Kwasa College, Springs, Johannesberg; link - Stephen Marriott
Holy Trinity Pewley Down School; link – Simon Butler
Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy; link – Keith Harper
and 4 donations of 10% of last year’s income to charities with which we have a current link through members of the congregation. For the period 2025-8;

Christians Against Poverty (the Guildford branch of this national charity which helps support people to become debt-free)- link Mike Bishop
Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice (for the Guildford area); link – Mark Lee

Please do talk to any members of the group if you wish to know more, or if you would like to join the working group which looks at charities and makes recommendations to the PCC, please contact Jan Hancock via the Parish Office
Over the coming weeks there will be more information in the newsletter about each of the charities. We hope to increase our knowledge as to how our giving in spent.
